The Natural Aesthetic, an exhibition introducing new works by Iker Ortiz. Ortiz, a fourth generation Mexican jeweler, founded IK Jewelers in 2005 as a vehicle to bridge new technology with traditional metalsmithing techniques, resulting in beautiful, contemporary works. Inspired by architecture, his designs combine Bohemian charm and Art Deco design and are marked by their use of materials often combining stainless steel, silver, titanium, gold, Corian and precious stones. In the new collection, Ortiz sets out to create jewelry pieces that let the gemstones ‘speak to us’, building and designing rings and ornaments around the gemstones they contain while preserving their natural beauty.
